The artist delves into her vivid childhood memories of motorbike rides in Vietnam, exploring diasporic narratives. The video breathes life into these recollections, featuring a protagonist in a speculative narrative. Motorbike culture, emblematic of Vietnam's shift towards capitalism, serves as a focal point. Deconstructing sun-protective garments associated with motorbiking in Vietnam, Nguyen transforms them into "wearable sculptures." Through this transformative process, the project presents an empowering strategy: the protagonist reinterprets their past encounters with discrimination, offering a new perspective on their experiences.
